Functional Capacity Evaluation
A functional capacity evaluation (FCE) is a series of standardised tests used to assess a worker’s functional capacity for work. An FCE is used to determine a worker’s abilities over a range of physical demands in order to facilitate functional recovery. An FCE should be used to match what the worker can actually do physically against the physical demands of a job.
The state of the art equipment used to perform an FCE is known as BTE-ER – developed by US based company BTE Technologies, widely regarded as the international leader in advanced solutions for testing and rehabilitation.
Using industry standardised assessment protocols, BTE-ER will:
- quantify a person’s carrying, lifting and work demand capacities
- measure static strength of any body part
- act as a full body range of motion assessment system.
Its numerous applications, versatility and computerised integration provide unparalleled assessment capabilities. CHG physiotherapists and occupational therapists offer BTE-ER FCE testing at each of our three clinics in metropolitan Adelaide; Mile End, Gillman and Elizabeth Vale. Please see our contacts page for your nearest clinic.
